Howdy!

So, last week’s assignments were:

1. Finish filling in the Blank Outline.
2. Write approximately one page per each “main” section, for Management, Product, Sales, and Finance.
3. Come back to class next time!

I’m writing the assignments along with you, so here are mine for the week:

Blank Outline– Business Plan
Product– Business Plan
Sales– Business Plan
Finance– Business Plan

It looks like I left out the Management page, so I’ll add that soon. Also, as you can see, I have a tendency to draw stars when I’m brainstorming– please don’t hold that against me. ;)

If you look over these files, I hope you’ll be underwhelmed at how simple and rough draft my business plan is. That’s the way it should be during the outline phase– there’s plenty of time to refine & edit the ideas later.

Be careful not to talk yourself out of getting this assignment done because it seems overwhelming or you don’t have enough time. We’re not grading you on the assignment, so whatever you can do is fine.

The hardest part of doing your business plan is starting… if you can write anything at all, the battle is half over!

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to call or email. See you at class!

Indeed. As part of our Eastern Idaho Entrepreneurial Center, we’re hosting a business plan workshop to assist local entrepreneurs & business owners in getting their business plans going.

The great thing about the workshops is that the class only meets on Tuesdays, from 4:30-5:30 pm, and it runs for 4 weeks. Perfect for busy entrepreneurs who are strapped for time.

…And the not-so-great thing about the workshops is that four weeks is really a tight timeframe to pull together all the info necessary. It’s like drinking from a firehose.

So in order to help supplement the rest of the week while you’re working on your business plan, this blog is here to provide resources– articles, tips, examples, and question/answers.

I’ll also be writing a sample business plan along with the class, and posting those sections on the blog as it progresses throughout the month.

And so, with no further ado, welcome to the Four Week Business Plan Workshop!
